QUINCY (WGEM) – The Illinois State Pocket Billiard Championships are returning to Quincy this month.
According to the American CueSports Illinois State Association, the 28th annual championship will be held March 19 through March 23 at the Oakley Lindsay Center.
ACSISA officials said amateur pool players will travel to Quincy to participate in various singles and team tournaments.
There will also be two Division Non-Sanction events open to all players. Other divisions can be played only by ACS league members. Those include:
- Wed, March 19: Scotch Doubles, 9-Ball, Senior, 8-Ball
- Thurs, March 20: Various 8-Ball divisions
- Fri – Sun, March 21-23: Team play
- Sat – Sun, March 22-23: Illinois State Junior event
Hall of Famer and World Artistic Champion Tom “Dr. Cue” Rossman will be at the event displaying his skills. He will also do a meet and greet.
They expect around 850 players and over 2,500 entries. Spectators are encouraged to watch the tournament with free admission.
