THE Marboys Billiards Club has confirmed the participation of some its key players in the upcoming CPBA 99 Tournament on Jan. 15-18, 2025, at the prestigious 99 Billiards Club in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Set to compete in one of the year’s first major tournaments are Filipino world No. 8 Johann Chua and higly-rated players Jeffrey Roda (19), James Aranas (40), and Bernie Regalario (50).
Completing the Marboys team to Vietnam are Patric Gonzales, Michael Baonan, and Marvin Asis.
Jeffrey Ignacio (46), according to Marboys honcho JR Velasco, will also see action, bolstering the Filipinos’ strength for the tournament.
The Philippines will be well-represented in the Vietnam tilt as other world-rated pool artists including Anton Raga (13), Jerico Bañares (32), Baseth Mocaibat (34), Albert James Manas (45), and Michael Feliciano (66) are likewise joining the fray.
Other notable Philippine players participating are Harry Vergara, Jerson Cumayas, Bryant Saguiped, Tristan Deocareza, Dean Mark Castronueva, Romiel Morta, Ryan Mark Hidalgo, and Paolo Gallito.
The tournament boasts a total prize fund of $28,000, with $8,000 for the champion and $4,000 for the runner-up, ensuring an exciting and competitive start to the 2025 billiards season. / VIA 77.BILLIARDS
